This monument by the artist Nestor Basterretxea, stands in the extraordinary park of La Tala.

Observing the view through the opening, the Isle of Izaro can be seen to fit perfectly into the slot, causing an excellent visual impact.

At the foot of the monument there is a plaque indicating that it was dedicated to the painter Benito Barrueta Asteinza by the Council of Bermeo in September 1973:
